To forgive is to know.

The statement I think that deserves forgiveness is the statement about the soldier obeying his commander's order to shoot an unarmed mother and child.  The reason I think the soldier deserves forgiveness is because he or she had probably never been taught otherwise.  If you had never heard of anything else and you were taught that they were the enemy naturally you would do what your commander tells you.  Also if the soldier didn't do what the commander told them to do there would more than likely be very bad consequences maybe even including death. So although what the soldier did seems horrible, you need to factor in what they know and also the consequences of not doing it.

  1. I wrote mine on the same one and I share the same opinion. I agree, he should be forgiven regardless of his actions. He'll have to live with that for the rest of his life- that's punishment enough.
