The cracked and chipped Coca-Cola painting was once a fresh moist painting on the brick wall located by the Melba movie theater on Main Street. The base color of this painting is red with a baby blue border. The words "delicious and refreshing" are written at the bottom in yellow. A young boy with faded blonde hair and soft features is holding a classic oversized glass of the drink. The chipped paint of the artwork brings out the very vintage and historic look.
This painting is a splendid way to reminisce the days when Main street was packed with people going to the Melba, The Landers Theater, or maybe even Elizabeths restaurant. Now on the side of the new restaurant the Greasy Spoon, it is very easy to see the mural if you are just cruising down the street or even taking a walk on the sidewalk. Today, Main Street is not as crowded as it used to be and this vivid painitng is mainly only seen by cars driving by. Although the painting is not able to display its true beauty and symblism, it will never be forgotten within the town of Batesville.
